Multifaith News

Greater Victoria Interfaith Dialogue Project Part II

Part II of the GVID project is scheduled to begin soon. Begun earlier this year, the project is a collaborative effort between the Intercultural Association (ICA), South Island Dispute Resolution Centre and VMS, bringing together people of diverse faiths in dialogue sessions and various activities. Part I brought together those of the Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Bahá'í Faiths. Part II, which is also funded by Embrace BC, will focus on those of the Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist and Unitarian faiths, and will include those of the previous GVID project as well. Stay tuned!

Spiritually Speaking - Times-Colonist Interfaith Blog

In May, the Times-Colonist began the Spiritually Speaking blog with a team of writers (roughly the same faith groups as those represented on the board of Victoria Multifaith Society) and guest writers submitting articles and fielding comments.
Each faith group is taking one week each, on a rotating basis.

Click on "comments" at the link above to post a response and continue the dialogue.

MULTIFAITH RESOURCES

Would you or your community like to contact one of our faith communities?
Whether it's for general information, educational resources, speakers, contact information or other valid reasons,
please email victoriamultifaith@gmail.com and your message will be forwarded to the appropriate board member.

Alternatively, individual board members may be contacted at their own email addresses
"Contact Us" page of this website.

Our mission is:

    • To foster an environment of trust between people of different faith traditions, where open and respectful dialogue can take place;

    • To promote collective and co-operative action that fosters intellectual understanding and social interaction;

    • To facilitate the practical application of wisdom arising from each faith group.

The Board of the Victoria Multifaith Society is composed of members of various faith groups who do not represent their respective faith groups, but rather have come together as individuals who practice a certain faith, thereby bringing to the table a multi-faith perspective.
